A graduate in fine art painting from Bradford & Ilkley College in 1992, the sources of inspiration for my degree show work were the moorlands of Ilkley, Haworth and Saddleworth. I have vivid memories of walking these rugged landscapes in the depths of autumn and winter with dark skies looming above, frozen streams and wind battered grasses and heathers underfoot. This is where I developed my passion for capturing the power of landscape. Whilst my style of painting may have developed over the years the inspiration for my work remains constant.

I have been based in York since 2000 - gateway to a plethora of outstanding landscapes, from the North York Moors to the Northumberland coast and the bleak yet beautiful West Yorkshire moorlands and much, much more in between and beyond, so I am never short of inspiration.
